Class Descriptions

Class #1: Alex Anderson and Judy Fredenburgh

Alex Anderson is coming to Moore's QES in March 2020! Come join Alex and laugh along with her as she tells you stories of her journey. Learn how the Quilters Select product line, from RNK, came to be. Alex is bringing a large trunk show for you to Oooo and Aaaaa over! There are so many things you will learn from her presentation.

After learning about Quilters Select products, join Judy Fredenburgh in a team sewing hands-on class.

You will learn many different techniques while working on this Star Delight Wall Hanging. The applique design is adapted from Alex’s quilt pattern “Star Delight”. The center is couched yarn done in embroidery, with a crystal center, surrounded by applique triangles. Decorative stitches will add a finishing touch. The hanging straps are done with buttonholes and ribbon. The wall hanging will have a mock binding. So many tips and tricks for embroidery and sewing to be shared with you.
Alex and Judy are excited about coming to Spring QES 2020 and can't wait to see you there!

Alex Anderson

Alex Anderson’s love of quilting all began in 1978 when she completed her Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt as a part of her work towards her degree in art from San Francisco State University.

Over the years her central focus has been to understand fabric relationships and an intense appreciation of traditional quilts and beautiful quilting surface design.

Class #2: Hands-On Embroidery with Kimberbell

Flamingo Beauties

"Be your own kind of beautiful," and learn fun techniques by making Flamingo Beauties Bench Buddy from Kimberbell.

Three pink ladies stand gracefully with heads of applique glitter, while each bird features unique feathers of soft chenille, tiny buttons, and Kimberbell Pull Flowers.

Wildflower Blooms Tote

Fringe blossoms, satin stems, and pull flowers create the prettiest bouquet, embroidered on a denim tote for a casual chic carryall.

Kimberbell totes come with the side seams already open for easy hooping. After embroidery, simply sew the seams closed to complete the bag.
